With the Orc Fort back in our possession (thanks Samon Triest for holding it for us) and some activity already being found around Orc lands, there are a few things i'd like for all those playing (and those that have a useful opinion) to consider.
The first is the Runt Shak (Orc Fort) and its decoration. As most should be aware, the old Shak fell and we lost a fair amount of stuff with it. While we will repopulate the shak with various bits and baubles over time, I would like to consider what should be added now to give it the proper atmosphere. Currently:
The First floor is the entrance area and Pug manufacture zone. It has boxes to throw smelties/wuulies in and other boxes to carry armor, weapons, food, bandages and so on. There will be minimal decoration on this floor as there are too many items with actual use that will be stored down there. Besides, if a twink comes, it is nice to be able to scramble into the fort without tripping over tons of superfluous objects.
The Second floor will be a place of general congregation. So far we just have some dye tubs up there, so we need to decide what else to put up there. Probably books (that we can't read) and a place for meetings. In any case, it needs decoration.
The Third floor will be both the runt training area and a pseudo prison. Whether or not I keep the prison depends on what other Orcs volunteer their own houses for. If we get a place with a better prison, i'll get rid of it (or not) and find something new to put there. Decoration needed here as well, though hopefully it falls within a motif that would befit a training area/ prison cell.
The Fourth/roof floor is the clan shrine. Among other things it carries a sacrificial altar and the clanstone. The decoration up here should probably fit into the somewhat dark atmosphere that a clan of brutish and murderous creatures would associate with a holy place of theirs. While I would prefer it that we still had the shrine of the Bloodgod, this will have to make due.
As to the issue of clan relations (with other guilds), I will probably send out war invites soon, simply so that avenue of interaction exists with other guilds. However, it is my personal preference that we don't interact too heavily with "outsiders" for the first week or so. As we have a few new characters running around, who need training and a chance to work out their roleplay, I would like to see the clan focus on its own first. Obviously this does not preclude us from going out on a stroll through hummie infested territory, but I would like the focus to be on clan activities and training. At least until we can rebuild our strength.
Seeing as the Fort fell, taking most everything with it, we are low on resources. This includes everything from gold, to lumber and ingots. While we are still fairly early in our redevelopment, anything we can do to get us back on track would be great. Additionally, while the occasional "donation" from outside-of-the-clan are fine [read that as non-Orc chars], I hope that most of what we collect will come directly from our Orcs. This means going on hunts with other Orcs and logging onto pugs (if you have one. Don't feel inclined to make one.) and interacting with each other. This sort of ties back in to the above paragraph.
Plenty more for us to go over, in time. But if we can get this basic stuff nailed down, we can get along to the other things later on. Such as clan ranks and planned activities. Did someone say Darkmoon?
Edit: Had something in here about finding the old Orc history page, but then saw it was already there...has been for sometime. Oops.
